Our sites are ideal for caravans, motorhomes

and camper vans.

Three small pitches with electrical hook ups at the edge of our community enterprise centre, Talla na Mara, with panoramic views across the Sound of Taransay.

Seven quieter pitches linked to our Talla na Mara site to allow full use of the centre’s amenities.

Pairc Niseaboist, Isle of Harris, HS3 3AE. The site is located on the A859, 12 miles South of Tarbert and 8 miles North of Leverburgh. Follow the signs for Talla na Mara and head up the hill towards the building and to the back of the car park. (Please note that our postcode is relatively new and therefore not all SatNav systems will find it. If you have problems, try entering HS3 3HP (about 2 miles further north of the site). Google maps location. what3words: ///leathers.fabricate.boasted.

Talla na Mara is a community owned venue in the heart of West Harris and includes 3 small pitches with electrical hook ups at the edge of the grounds of the centre. The pitches are a short walk from Niseaboist beach and Macleod’s standing stone with stunning views across the Sound of Taransay.

 

Pitches have access to all of the facilities of the centre during opening hours. These include; a Restaurant/Café, a gallery featuring work by local artists, open studios showcasing local arts and events throughout the year. Please note, the Café/Restaurant and open studios may be subject to seasonal opening.


None of our sites are suitable for tents or awnings. Please see Terms and Conditions for full details. 

We only accept motorhomes and caravans that are no more than 7.5metres

Perfectly located to allow full use of the facilities available at Talla Na Mara, our 7 pitches at Pairc Niseaboist boast stunning views across the Sound of Taransay.  The idyllic Niseaboist beach and the Macleod’s stone are only a few minutes’ walk away.

Seilebost, Isle of Harris, HS3 3HP. The site is located on the A859, 10 miles south of Tarbert and 10 miles north of Leverburgh Pier. Turn off at the sign for Seilebost School. Google maps location. what3words: ///tinted.ropes.hypocrite.

 

Seilebost School hook-ups are an ideal base for your holiday in West Harris. The site is located within the old primary school grounds, with views across the machair and just a few minutes’ walk from Seilebost beach, with views over to Luskentyre and the North Harris mountains beyond. Please note the playpark is not open.

 

Pitches are open April to September.

Dogs are not allowed on site before 15th May due to lambing season. 

You may be asked to move on.

Camping Spots

Roadside Camping Spots

If you are already at one of the camping spots or have previously stayed and would like to pay, please do so by using the methods on the sign at the site or by using the PayPal link below. Alternatively, you can pop in and see us at Talla na Mara if the building is open.

Suggested payment of £10 per night

There are currently seven Trust camping spots in West Harris, located in Losgaintir (Luskentyre), Seileabost (Seilebost) & Niseabost (Nisabost).

 

We have identified these sites in order to protect the roadsides from erosion. These spots offer fantastic views and are marked with a small sign. These spots cannot be booked and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Caravans and Campervans are welcome.

These sites are not suitable for tents.

There are no facilities at these sites.

Please do not park outwith the boundaries of the designated space.  DO NOT drive vehicles off the Parking Area.  Anyone seeing to be doing so may be asked to move on.

Directions and capacity

As you are coming south from Tarbert down the A859, camping spot 1 will be a gravel parking area on your left, immediately after the 'Welcome to West Harris' sign. The GPS coordinates are 57.863785, -6.873938 and the What3Words is ///speeded.rang.pollution. Camping spot 1 has a capacity of 5 vehicles

Camping spot 2 is a gravel parking area about a mile further south, its GPS coordinates are 57.866230, -6.882270 and the What3Words is ///kingdom.truly.reseller. Camping spot 2 has a capacity of 6 vehicles

Camping spots 3, 4 and 5 are located in Luskentyre township. As you drive a little bit further south on the A859, there will be a turning on your right for ‘Losgaintir’. A single track road then leads through the village.

 

Camping spot 3 is a gravel parking area on a bend in the road. Its GPS coordinates are 57.871763, -6.908576 and the What3Words is ///verbs.snug.fonts. Camping spot 3 has a capacity for 2 vehicles. 

 

Camping Spot 4 is also a gravel parking area on a bend in the road. Its GPS coordinates are 57.872293, -6.911148 and the What3Words is ///bronzes.minimums.estimated. Camping spot 4 has capacity for 2 vehicles.

 

Camping spot 5 is a little bit further down the road, it is a grass parking area. Its GPS coordinates are 57.877604, -6.929709 and the What3Words is ///probing.hypnotist.leans. Camping spot 5 has capacity for 4 vehicles.

Camping spot 6 is back on the main road (A859) if you continue south. It is on the right hand side, in a small gravel parking area just before Seilebost causeway begins. The GPS coordinates are 57.866711, -6.915524 and the What3Words is ///stutter.compacts.mirroring. Camping spot 6 has capacity for 4 vehicles.

Camping spot 7 is a couple of miles further along on the main road. It is located just south of Talla na Mara on the right hand side of the road if you are going south. The GPS coordinates are 57.854783, -7.000080 and the What3Words is ///crass.cosmetic.skillet. Camping spot 7 has capacity for 5 vehicles.
